"Dead in a ditch..."

February 13-20

Day 132: After emails I gave an elder a haircut, then like 5.2 seconds later word got around our zone that I cut hair and 4 elders asked if I could cut theirs on the next p-day.  We had zone activity at a members home...they have a sweet backyard!  We played basketball and ate hot dogs.  Then for the YSA family home evening we got CPR certified so that was cool.

Day 133: HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! Honestly Valentines day is like Hanukkah.  Hanukkah is only celebrated by Jewish people and Valentines day should only be celebrated by people in relationships.  At least that's what someone in our ward told us.  LOL! It was a long day, and as you could guess not a ton of people wanted to talk to us...but institute was good.  It was us, 2 students and the teacher. LOL!

Day 134: We did mormon.org time and got to print off some talks! #party! We got fed today, that was good. It was Mexican food. YUM! Then we had correlation at the Habit and our ward mission leader bought us milkshakes! 💖

Day 135: We had Zone conference today! There's always an award handed out for the cleanest car (inside) and.... drum roll please WE WON!!!! We got mini hot wheels cars! Mine was blue!

Day 136: Okay, today was insane.  It was raining so hard.  It was very windy and wet! Californians nicknamed the storm "Lucifer" LOL! We taught a less active today, originally we were going to talk about 3 Nephi 11 when Christ comes to the Americas.  But instead we talked about cutting out bad music.  He shared with us that he hasn't felt the spirit in the longest time because he listens to rap basically 24/7.  We challenged him to do a "music fast" where he only listens to spiritually uplifting music/positive music.  Then we had dinner at a place called Jinkys with a member. YUM! Then we found out our Stake Presidents backyard was flooding so we went to help.  Anywho our phone got water damage so we ran home to put it in rice.  While we were there we realized that our laundry room was flooding because our water heater overflowed.  So we spent the rest of the night fixing that.  The Elders came over to help us while the worker was here so we could all be in the apartment.  Then we found out our gas might be out.  So now we have no hot water.

Day 137: Somehow, in the middle of the night while our phone was taken apart sitting in rice our phone decided to call the Elders quorum president 18 times...at 2 am. So he freaked out and kept trying to call us but it went to voicemail cuz our battery was out.  Long story short, He thought we were in danger, like at gun point, or kidnapped.  So at 10 am they decided to round people up to go find the sister missionaries "dead in a ditch".  Our phone ended up working while hooked up to our cars bluetooth so we called them back and explained everything before they sent their search party.  We got our gas fixed and a new phone today! But yeah, nothing too exciting happens as a missionary. 😉

Day 138: HAPPY SUNDAY! We spent most of our day teaching Rachel, going to church/meetings, and visiting less actives.  Nothing terribly huge or exciting!

Day 139: P-DAY! So far we've done shopping, emails, and cut 4 elders hair.  Now we are writing letters and probably gonna take a nap.  LOL then FHE, we're playing volleyball!

1- Valentines day #missionarystatus
2&3- we won the cleanest car award at zone conference!!!! YEAH!
4- long story short.... our phone got water damage so it started doing crazy things and this is our screen...
5-our laundry room flooded on friday because the water heater over flowed and so when the worker man came to fix the water heater the elders came over to help us clean up so that there would be 3 males in the apartment so we could go inside!

Good Vibes Only!

February 1-6

Day 119: I've had some problem sleeping at night so the nurse gave me permission to go buy medicine which she prescribed today (since it's not p-day).  Then we went boothing, which is always super awkward.  Lunch. Comp study.  A lesson with a recent convert in a park(we got distracted by the ducks... a lot ...). A lesson with a member preparing for a mission.  Then a member took us to dinner at Chilis - yum! Then institute and bed! We have a new routine were we do yoga before bed to calm down our minds! It rocks!

Day 120: So back to sleeping problem...I haven't slept though the night for that past week and a half, so I got a little too tired and the nurse told me to stay in until our night appointments.  So we did that and I caught up on sleep! Then we had a lesson with our investigator, then institute, home and Yoga CUZ GOOD VIBES ONLY!💖

Day 121: Not much happened today.  We did our weekly planning and worked on our district assignment.  We did service for a stranger and tons of yard work for him! Then we had pizza at Pieology ... again! We laughed like 50 times today to the point we were crying! good times...good times!

Day 122: The only notable thing that happened today was that our zone leaders made and brought us cookies! Oh and we had a lesson at the park again, but it was raining so we sat in our cars...lol!
Then we drove to Agoura Hills for exchanges. I'm going with Sister Barnum (she's from my home stake!) Cool!

Day 123: Exchanges!
I forgot how physically demanding family wards are! Sister Barnum is a SOLID missionary #goals! We had a fun day talking about home.💕 We got bagel sandwiches, YUMMY! Sister Barnum told me where the Bachelor mansion is...guess where we are going Monday?!

Day 124: 4 MONTHS! But who's counting?😉 Again not tons from today.  But we heard all about the Super Bowl cuz our members were heart broken that we couldn't watch it.  Don't worry football fans... we got play by plays from people on the street, all is well!

1-4: P DAY HIKE!!!!
5:classic mirror selfie

6:we might have gone to pieology again...
7: the zone leaders made our companionship cookies cuz members dont feed us!!
8: FREE SLURPEES
9: it was pooring rain so we taught jake in our car... hahahaha it was hilarious!

Shades on, spoon in mouth, Mo-tab session!

January 24-30

Day 111: PDAY! We emailed, shopped, got Baja fresh for lunch and coldstone for Sis Houseman's 16 month mark.  Had a session with our investigator, then we were in charge of the YSA FHE night.  We played Missionary minute to win it! It was fun to watch, LOL!

Day 112: Today was our turn to fast for the ward "40 day fast" for missionary work in the ward.  We did district service for a lady and cleaned her whole house.  Sister Housman and I were cleaning the kitchen, Elders were patching all the holes in the walls.  When we finished she thanked us and said we had a "light" about us but she couldn't explain it.  We then had a less active lesson and institute which is always good.

Day 113:  BIG NEWS! The mission schedule is changing! We now plan our day that morning rather than the night before, lunch is 30 minutes not 60, we have 1.5 hours to get ready instead of 1.  P-day starts at 8 not 10!😍 We had another lesson with our investigator on tithing. Then institute 2.0.

Day 114: Weekly planning. We ate cake, yum.  Some lady stared at us through her window and didn't answer the door #kcool.  Correlated with ward missionaries and mission leader.

Day 115: Had Zone conference meeting and talked about the new changes again, but yeah, not a lot happened today.

Day 116: Again, nothing big.  But we got ice cream and sang church songs with spoons in our mouths while driving, so that was fun.

Day 117: Church was good as always! We got a new ward missionary, so we had a big "lesson" with him to kinda tell him his job and such.
