On the Move!

Well Sister Page is being transferred.  She has loved the time she has spent in Thousand Oaks and is sad to leave, but thankful she got to stay there for a few transfers. She will continue serving the Young Single Adults.

She is heading to Santa Barbara   ---   To find her Gus in THE murder capital of the world (for all her fellow Psych fans). Grandma Pettit I promise this is just a tv show reference.

Mommy's Day!

May 8-14

Day 216: P-day! Today was fun, we had tons to get done and luckily we got them all done. For our district activity we played a solid round of district sports. Then for FHE we made mothers day gifts.

Day 217: Today, as most days now a days, we went up to Moorpark college to contact.  Since 1/2 the classes have finals this week, not too many people wanted to talk with us. πŸ™ We still managed to hand out a few Books of Mormon.  Which is GREAT!

Day 218: Today we went on a hike for zone conference.  We blindfolded 1 person in the companionship (Sister B) and the other (me) had to be the "spirit" and guide them throughout the hike.  Luckily California hikes are nothing like Utah hikes. haha. Then half was to where we were going, the other companion, me, got to be blindfolded.  Then we did a 2 legged race...it was funny.  After the hike we ate lunch and then our Mission President and his assistants gave us a lesson.  We did another game (ish) where we had a card describing our character and a description of who we are looking for.  They said "Everybody" had someone to find.  Well my person and Sister B's person were never to be found haha #foreveralone. So we got to be partners, haha.

Day 219:  HAPPY BIRTHDAY EM! Today was basically like tuesday... We spent all day contacting at Moorpark College.  We handed out 10 copies of the Book of Mormon! Wowza, that's uncommon in one day! Good day 😊Oh! and we had 2 sessions today.

Day 220:  Nothing too notable today, we planned for our upcoming week.  And boothed at night at the mall.  OH MY! Actually there was something HUGE today.  This morning during studies we got a call from the mission office.  They gave us a referral. We later found out that he referred HIMSELF!

Day 221:  Today we had a lesson with the referral on the Restoration of the Gospel, it was so cool.  He's so prepared for the gospel!!! It's honestly so cool that Heavenly Father allows us to be a part of these amazing miracle moments. πŸ’– #blessed

Day 222: MOTHERS DAY!
WE GOT TO CALL HOME!!! AH! It was so nice to be able to call home and talk to my beautiful family! Church was good too.  Our new investigator (the referral) came and asked if there was any activities or classes throughout the week that he could go to.  So he's going to come to FHE tomorrow and institute on Wednesday! AH! SO PREPARED!

1: saying goodbye to Rachel. our recent convert, and Emily, one of the members, they're going home for the summer :(
2-3: 100 lbs of cornstarch showed up at our apartment. hahah thanks mom! we made powder for a color war we are doing with our district today!!
4-5: we went on a hike for zone conference. and got blindfolded in the process!
6: WE GOT ELEPHANT PANTS!!!

D Todd Christofferson

May 1-7
Day 209:  PDAY! We went back to the shop at the mall to hold another puppyπŸΆπŸ’– We did a lot of random, fun, shopping because we had time! Then we had a Zone activity at a members home, we played all sorts of sports.  Then for FHE there was a Cinco de Mayo fiesta! But they started to watch a movie so we left and went knockin doors.

Day 210:  Today was fun, we went to Moorpark College 2 times to contact people.  While we were there we found 5-6 potential investigators.  But basically all today was MPC.

Day 211:  Today was pretty normal, nothing too crazy happened!

Day 212:  MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU!  As you can see we celebrated National Star Wars day.  A member even let us borrow a light saber.  We picked up a new investigator today! He looked into the church 4 years ago and is interested again.  YAY! Also, we had tacos tonight to prep us for tomorrow.

Day 213:  Cinco de Mayo!! TODAY WE CELEBRATED! A member let us borrow sombreros, we made mustaches on a stick, and my WONDERFUL family sent us macaranas in a Cinco de Mayo package.  It truly was the best way to celebrate 7 months! Today we picked up another new investigator, we met him up at Moorpark College.  Then for dinner, we had....TACOS!  We also boothed at the mall and some children threw chocolate and ice at us. HAHAHA!

Day 214:  Today something amazing happened, Elder D Todd Christofferson came to our mission for a mission conference! It was AMAZING! πŸ’• We also boothed at the mall and a member came and bought us ice cream. πŸ¦πŸ’œ

Day 215:  Today at church our investigator went up and bore his testimony and said "I testify that the Book of Mormon, and this church are TRUE!" Ahhh! Okay I might have balled like a baby.  I could have gotten California out of their drought with how much I cried.  Good tears though! Then we had a broadcast by Elder Clark.  It was so good.  It was about the book of Mormon.

Exchanges!

April 24 - May 1

Day 202: Today was a fun p-day! We got our butts kicked by a member who worked us out for an hour and a half.  We didn't do much else today, that was too exiting, just went to Aguora for exchanges.

Day 203: Exchanges! I was with Sister Barnum for the whole day! It was so Fun! She goes home at the end of May so I won't get to be her real companion πŸ™ But I got to for at least 1 day.  Mostly we just went out tracking.  We found a former investigator who is interested in learning again, so that was a miracle in its self!  The we had a member lesson that went really well, and they gave us weird fruit, I don't remember the name of it though...

Day 204: We met with our investigator today and read the scriptures with him.  It was neat! Then we contacted Moorpark College and handed out 4 Books of Mormon and got a return appointment. 😊

Day 205: Today we did more mormon.org time! had the LDSSA club and talked about Moroni 7, which talks all about faith, hope and charity. πŸ’– Then a member took us to lunch at Chick-Fil-a, YUM😍 Then we planned for the coming week, but half way through that we got a call from our District leader telling us that a family in their ward needed help moving.  So we went and helped...there were lots of stuff.  Then we finished weekly planning and had enchiladas for dinner at a member home.

Day 206: We had district meeting and then contacted like crazy.  Then we continued helping the family move.  Not much else happened. Oh we found a potential!

Day 207:  Our Stake did a family history day so that was fun!  And our member made us tacos...YUM...haha.  I love Mexican food!  The we boothed at the mall.

Day 208: HAPPY SUNDAY! Really not much happened today...Just knocking doors, actually we had a baby miracle.  We knocked on a YSA home with NEVER HAPPENS, so that was good!!!

Day 196: We did mormon.org and printed Elder Bednar's talk from conference and one from Holland from like 1999.  We had a lesson with a returning member on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and taught our investigator about temples, eternal families, and family history.

Day 197: We did service at a food pantry which is always a party! and got a new investigator today! Then we booted at CLU.  It was a good day.

Day 198: Today was a pretty basic Thursday.  We had the LDSSA (LDS single adult) club where our investigator was there. We planned for our upcoming week.  And we went out and tried to find people who are ready to receive our message.

Day 199:  We had district meeting and had to give a discussion on Bender's last conference talk.  I feel it went pretty well (I hope lol) then we had our first booth set up at the mall! We handed out tons of cards and some Books of Mormon! It was a success, then we had a lesson with our recent convert on following the prophet/10 commandments.  We also found REALLY solid potential investigators.

Day 200: YIKES! 200 ALREADY?! Also, Happy Earth Day! To celebrate we weeded at an animal rehabilitation place where they had bald eagles. tigers, black panthers, owls, gold eagles, camels, zebras, etc.  Then we had "bible brunch" with an investigator.  We taught her the plan of salvation.  Then did our studies and went out to find.  Then a member took us out for dinner at Bandits - yum.  Then we booted at the mall again. (success yet again!) Then had a lesson about prayer.

Day 201: Sundays are always good.  Full of church, meetings, dinner, and trying to find people! All in all, twas a solid week! 😊
