Daniel

We had a pretty cool experience this week.  First, I fell like a little back story is necessary.  During weekly planning on Oct. 5 we felt SUPER STRONGLY that "Daniel" needed to come to church and that we needed to focus on Daniel at church.  Now, we have an investigator named Daniel so we texted him 2-3 times inviting him to church.  But each time he said "we'll see"  But still I felt SUPER STRONGLY about it.  Well Saturday he texted us and said he'd come next week because he denied to go out of town.  Saturday night in my nightly prayer I prayed about Daniel coming to church and I still felt like he needed to come.  I was slightly frustrated because he kept saying no.  So we figured we'd see what happens.  Well Sunday rolled around and as we were driving to church I kept hearing "focus on Daniel today at church" so we sat and looked for Daniel to show up, but still nothing.  Then we saw a man sitting at the VERY back of the overflow, but we'd never seen him before.  There was a farewell that day so we figured that he was there for that.  We decided to go talk to him anyway.  Turns out he was a less-active member who had recently moved here.  He's been less active for 30 years and it was his first day back in a church building in those 30 years.  We talked to him for a few minutes, then both felt the need to invite him to sit by us.  He did!  We watched him take the sacrament for the first time in 30 years and were in tears most of sacrament meeting because of his story.  After the hour we talked to him more.  He shared that he wants to meet with us so he can finally dive back into the church and the Gospel.  We took him to Gospel Principals where he participated in the whole discussion.  Then the men took him to priesthood.  After church we ran and caught him before he left and said how grateful we were that he came, but we failed to get his name.  He smiled and said "Oh! my name is Daniel"  It was truly amazing!  Heavenly Father sends us so many tender mercies and he always see the big picture.  I was so upset when our investigator Daniel didn't show, but I needed to put all me efforts on this Daniel.  I'm so grateful for the Spirit, for helping me know that I needed to focus on someone specifically and for helping us KNOW that we needed to talk with Daniel.  We are super excited to be able to work with Daniel...well both Daniels. 😍

#short week

Sept 13-17

Wed:  Our awkward midweek pday.  Today for our district meeting we went SAND SURFING @ the sand dunes in Oceano 💖 It was so good and so fun!  Also today is Sister Adamson's 14 month mark.  YAY! So we celebrated that.

Thur:  Nothing too crazy or too fun happened today.  Just a day filled with weekly planning and visiting people.

Fri:  Exchanges with the Morrow Nay taipan!  I was with Sister Melunis and Sister Siale for the day #2comps.  We spent the day visiting people and doing service for a member in our ward.

Sat:  Today was good!  We had a lesson with a recent convert and her family and...they invited us to come to her temple sealing in October! 💕 We are so excited!!! Then we went to a baptism for the Santa Maria 3rd ward sisters.

Sun:  We had church, which is probably my favorite part of each week.  Then a lesson with the Thomas family about faith.  They also brought us cupcakes, it was so cool.💝

Sept 4 - 12

My oh my, this week has been insane!

Mon:  We had P-day! We went shopping as a district so that was fun!

Tue:  11 MONTHS! Whoot! Whoot!  We had our very first MLC (missionary leadership council)  it was so cool to see all the behind the scenes work behind missionary work.  Because we were gonna pass Ventura on the way home, (we both served in Ventura 4th ward) so we got permission to go visit a less active family that we had both worked with! It was so cool to surprise them and see them. 💖

Wed:  We went on exchanges with the San Luis Obispo YSA Sisters!  I went with Sister Madder, she's awesome!  This is her 1st transfer, so it was fun to go back and teach the basics of missionary work.

Thu:  Today was a struggle.  We had 4 appointments cancel so our day went differently than planned.  But it's all good.  One really cool thing was, we were making banana bread and right as it was done we found out that our district leader had bronchitis.  So we decided to bring them the banana bread that we made.  It was slightly sad that we didn't get any, haha, but hey serving someone felt 10x better!

Fri:  Today went a little crazier than planned.  We think we ha bed bugs from someone we visited this week.  So we had to go to the store and buy bug bombs.  Then let them off in our apt. While those were going off, we had to wash our sheets and stuffed animals.  In between the washing cycles we would go visit people.  Then we had our interviews with our mission president and his wife in our apt!  Luckily we got it all taken care of before they came.  But AWWW! They're so great!  They even helped us make our beds when our sheets were finished being washed.  💗

Sat:  We found 2 new investigators today!  Daniel and Marcus, they both have the desire to learn more and want to find "TRUTH".  It was a really cool lesson where they both testified of a loving Heavenly Father.  We can't wait to teach them again!  We had Stake Conference tonight and got to spend time with Elder and Sister Schwitzer  (He;s in the 70) We showed them the restoration cup song, the loved it!  President and Sister Nakken were there too. Man what a good day.  Also I heard from a member that loves me that UTAH beat BYU!!! All good things happened today!

Sun:  Well Stake Conference 2.0 happened this morning.  So we spent a good portion of the day with Elder Schwitzer again.  Lemme tell ya, those two are amazing.  Then we had dinner with a less active family in the ward and talked all about their missions that they served when they were younger.  Then we had a lesson with another less active family which also went well.

Mon:  Today we had another MLC!  But this time Elder and Sister Schwitzer were with us and Elder Wakolo.  They taught us so much!  Then we ate lunch and drove 3 hours home.  By that time we only had time for dinner and studies and to visit 3-4 people.

Tue:  Mission tour/Zone conference!  Oh my goodness, it was so good!  We again of to spend most of our day (4 days in a row)  with Elder and Sister Schwitzer and Elder Wakolo and they told us that we are practically family now!  💖 It was really cool!  I loved this weekend so much and it was so sad to say goodbye to them!  I'll never forget the things that were shared this weekend,  I can testify that I know that the message we share is TRUE!
God loves his children so much and he has shown it through the restoration of Christ's gospel and though the Book of Mormon.

The kids sent her hidden Mickey cupcakes.  So glad they made it in one piece!
