Opposition in All Things

August 14 - 20

Mon: We said goodbye to some families in our ward.

Tue:  Transfer Day!  I said goodbye to Sister Siale and met my new companion Sister Adamson.  She's from Ammon, ID.  She was also trained and follow up trained by Sister Dye and Hardy.

Wed:  We tried to go around and meet members and get to know our area.

Thu:  Weekly Planning!  We also decorated our apartment with polka dots. 💖 We had a few member lessons, which were good.

Fri:  District meeting and lunch to get to know the district. We did mormon.org and a man at the library fell and lost his pulse, so CPR had to be done, and once they got a pulse the ambulance came and took him away.  (He lived, don't worry) Then when we got home that night, a firetruck and an ambulance were at our complex.  #crazy

Sat:  WE GOT STUCK IN AN ELEVATOR!!!  We went and met tons of people and FINALLY unpacked...  Yeah it wasn't done yet.

Sun:  Church, and 4 interested nonmembers came.  #oppositioninallthings  It was a crazy week but miracles were still found!

Transfer Calls!

Aug 7 - 13

Mon: Pday! Today was super fun! for our day activity we went and watched the Dallas Cowboys practice football.  One of our members is a cop in Oxnard, so he gave us the VIP treatment and we got to go onto the field and watch them play! We were so close I totally could've touched them.  Crazy! I LOVE FOOTBALL!!! It's Sister Siale's 2 month mark.

Tue:  Today we had Annabelle a member come out tracking with us.  We got some return appointments.  We met with a less active family and then had dinner at the Tao's after dinner we saw a cat trying to kill a baby humming bird for food.  So we stopped it and started to take care of the bird to help it.  And...WE SAVED THE HUMMING BIRD!

Wed:  Today we did mormon.org and visited a bunch of less active families.  We met with a few of them to get to know them and their families.  We also tried to find a former investigators address and it took us to some ranch that wasn't even the right address.  Random story but is was pretty funny.

Thu:  Today we spent 90% of the day weekly planning.  The last one of the transfer takes FOREVER!  Legit forever.  We had a lesson with our investigator Gabe about fasting and tithing and tracted all the houses on that street.  We had a very awkward experience.  Some man's door was a sheet of fabric so when we knocked on his door frame, he came over and covered himself with the "door" and said " I'm naked right now...BYE!  So we decided to change streets.

Fri:  We had our last District meeting as a district and sang "God be with you till we meet again"  I hate singing that song.  It's so sad! We got a text from Sister Tao saying she made cookies for us, so we went over around lunch time and they ended up feeding us.  We had leadership calls tonight and found out I'm a sister training leader.  Wowza, I find out where I'll be and who I'll be with tomorrow.

Sat:  HAPPY 15th BIRTHDAY EVERETT!!💖 Today was crazy, we read the BOM with our investigators Daniel and his 9 year old daughter.  She loves the BOM!  We got our transfer calls and we are both leaving.  We are both going north.  I'll be in Pismo Beach with Sis. Adamson (She's Sis. Dye's other trainee)  And Sis.  Siale is going to Morro Bay.  So we'll be right next to each other!  CRAZY!

Service, Service, Service

July 31 - Aug 6

Mon: Pday!  The YSA sisters invited us to go shopping with them in Oxnard.  So that was super fun and awesome!  Then we tried a place called "Boba" it was interesting, but good.

Tue:  Today was super fun! We did service for a member and helped her make about 100 chocolate dipped oreos w/sprinkles (They looked so cute!) Then we had a lesson with a less active woman who wants to start coming back to church.  The Zone leaders gave Sister Siale a challenge for today to hand out an open Book of Mormon, share her testimony on it, and get a return appointment all by herself (I couldn't help at all!).  So we only had 2-5 hours to contact today so we were on crunch time to do the challenge.  We met some super interesting people.  We had a handful of people flat out RUN AWAY from us (That's never happened to me before!)  But a Jewish man who doesn't believe in God took the Book 💜. YAY!

Wed:  We had Annabelle come out tracking with us again today which was fun.  We didn't have a lot go on today but it was the LOOOOOONGEST day ever!

Thu:  Today was on of my all time favorite days!  We helped our member out with an activity day girls "tea party" for the stake.  We taught a little workshop on how to set goals and got to talk to them about missions, then helped serve the girls their food.  It was so good/fun to do! I love kids!  Oh and it was Beauty and the Beast themed....so I was in heaven!

Fri:  Today we had district meeting and Sister Siale gave her 1st talk as a missionary!  YAY!  So we celebrated with ice cream (naturally)!  We taught our investigator Daniel today about church, prayer, and reading.  It went well!

Sat:  Holy, today marks 10 months since I've been home.  WOW! I guess time flies when your having fun. 💖 Not much happened today. Oh we helped a member with a garage sale.

Sun:  Not much went on today.  Just church and finding.

Happy 24th!

July 24 - 30

Mon:  We had zone activity and played capture the ball.  Which was fun! But not much happened.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE TREVOR!
Oh and Happy 24th of July!  ( I keep forgetting that's a Utah thing, LOL)

Tue:  We had Zone Conference! It was so good! We had out 1st Z.C.  with the Nakkens, and they're great! I 💖 them so much!

Wed:  We had exchanges in agoura and I was with SISTER HOPKINS! 💗my old comp! She goes home in 3 weeks 🙁but it was good to see/be with her again.

Thu:  Not too much happened today, we had lunch at a fancy place in Camarillo with some Relief Society members because one of them is moving to UT.  So we got invited to the goodbye lunch.  Then we walked around and contacted a lot.

Fri:  Today we did service for the members moving.  Half way through she was going to dye her hair so I got to help her do that.  Which was super fun to do again.  Man I miss school. (Did I just say that?)

Sat:  We had a member come out with us today and go see a bunch of potentials!  We also had dinner with my mom's cousin! Which was fun to meet them.  They took us out to eat at Woodranch 💜SO GOOD.  They are so super sweet!

Sun:  Today was good!  The other wards building flooded so they joined us for church today so it was
packed! Crazy!  One of the less actives that we're working with came to church today! Oh so Great! Love her!

Cube Journey

July 16 - July 23

Monday:  For Pday we went to the edge of the world AKA we went to some big rock that overlooks the ocean for district activity and just had some good ol' fashion communication.  For dinner a member gave us a gift card for Marie Calendars.  While we were there, another member saw us and paid for our dinner without us knowing.  So now we have our gift cards...#pie4days! Then we had a lesson and picked up a "new" investigator! YAY!  💖 All in all - pretty solid Pday! OH! And I got to "go shopping" with my mom! Well, she sent me pics over email 😍, but still #qualitytime.

Tuesday:  Today we had planned for a whole bunch of fun stuff but we did basically nothing on our list.  I guess the spirit had other plans for how our day would go. - We started out our day with studies and learning how to work with members.  Then we were going to go do service for a returning member, but....she canceled.  So we went and knocked/walked around.  We visited a members home and she gave us 2 referrals, one non member, on less active.  We visited the non member, he wasn't home but the wife wasn't interested.  Then we visit the less active and she wasn't home either.  So we walked more, then dinner where they also gave us 2 more people to visit!  They also gave us a bunch of cake to take home but we figured we'd be nice and give it to the Elders.  When we got there they were practicing how to ask the father if they could date his daughter...FUNNIEST thing I have ever walked up to.  (apparently, the elder going home in 4 weeks was/is super nervous about that since he hasn't done it in 2 year, LOL!)

Wednesday:  Today was super fun!  We did 3 hours of service with the Elders in our district.  We weeded and cut down bushes and got to give a pig a bath.  It was super duper fun! We came home changed, and did our studies.  Then went and met this sweet old couple who told us story after story.  They kept teasing each other and joking around with one another  It was super cute!  We were over there for quite a while, haha.  Then we had dinner and it was mexican, yum.  We walked around after dinner and saw a mannequin on the grass, so naturally, we stared at it for a second.  Then a lady came outside and we talked for a bit and then she showed us clothes that she was selling from a place called lu la rue.  IT WAS SO CUTE!!! And basically everything met our missionary standard for dress code.

Thursday:  Today we had weekly planning.  We had a lesson with our investigator, Daniel, and taught him the plan of salvation...and...Set him with a baptism date! YAY!!

Friday: Wow...1year ago today I decided that I wanted to go on a mission.  And what a roller coaster it has been!  Today we had district meeting and I had to lead a discussion on "How to become confident missionary"  I feel they asked the wrong person to lead that! LOL but luckily with the spirit by my side I made it through the 30 minute discussion!  We then visited some people and had dinner with our ward mission leader at a mexican restaurant called Olas.  It was really good! We met a kid named Riley thats interested in hearing our message! YAY!

Saturday:  Today was good, we had interviews with our mission president.  President Nakken and it was really cool to get to know him and his wife more!  They are such wonderful people! We also had dinner at the Tao home, for dinner they smoked brisket for 12 hours! WOW! For our dinner message we did "The Restoration Cup Song"  We'd never done it for anyone before and it actually worked out! YAY! After, there was a HUGE Justin Timberlake impersonation concert by the church.  So we decided to try and talk to the people who were parking at the church.  I mean come on, they park for free at the church, might as well try and find investigators there. 😄  The elders were at the church working on something and talked with us for a few minutes then took us on a "Cube Journey"  it was weird, but cook I guess. LOL.

Sunday:  Church! It was really good! As usual the talks today were on repentance, the atonement and having a Christ centered life.
