This week has been awesome!
Mon: PDAY! well we did our normal p day stuff like laundry and
shopping and cleaning. Then we went shopping at the mall and bath and body....i
love that place.... 😍 we also went to goodwill to finish getting out nifty Halloween
costume for tomorrow night! We had zone activity and carved pumpkins and played
speed football (basically ultimate frisbee... but with a football) then dinner
at the Taylor household where we enjoyed some Sheppard pie.....it was so
stinking good! After dinner we finished up our weekly planning.
Tue: HAPPY HALLOWEEN! This morning we baked a few batches of banana bread to take around to some people that we are working with and one of our ward missionaries for some visits 💕 we went and visited about 4 referrals and then went and read the Book of Mormon with Teresa💕 we then had dinner with the Woodland family and their little grand kids were in their Halloween costumes..... it was adorable! We then had to go in at 7 so we put our Halloween costumes back on and had our own mini Halloween party where we took a bunch of random photos....naturally..... and ate some candy!
Wed: so today was super fun and not too normal hahaha. We started off our day doing studies and then went to Sandy's to read the Book of Mormon with her.
Then we headed over to a referral from the Taylors.... hahaha here's the not normal part.... so Angela, the referral, is always crazy busy and can never meet up because she is always working. SO we set up an appointment with her at her work so we could talk to her and teach her! Hahaha so we went and got our nails done! We ended up teaching her about the restoration and talked a little about the plan of salvation... she's awesome!! We visited some more referrals and set up a time for us to come over and do service for one of them! Then we headed to our investigator Ernestos and talked with him for a little to see how he was doing. We left and started walking away. Then we both stopped and felt really strongly that we should go back, so we did. We didn't know what we were going to say but we knocked anyway and then awkwardly started to talk and prayed that we would know what to say. To our surprise we ended up setting him with a baptismal date of December 9th!!! It was craaaaaazy!
Thurs: today was INSANE! We left our apartment at 5:45 for our missionary leadership council meeting in Oxnard. And didn't leave til about 5 pm to go home. While there, we were able to set up our smart phones and start to use them! So now. .... We are officially a technology mission!!! Yay!! We went to dinner at Panera bread with the Hermanas serving around us and then came home for studies
Fri: it was our last district meeting as a district this transfer..... can you believe it's already transfer calls tomorrow?!?!? I sure cant.... We are PRAYING that we are both STAYING again!! #dreamteam. after the meeting we went and delivered banana bread, with another ward missionary, to our investigator Ernesto and ended up teaching him about the gospel of Jesus Christ and invited him to a baptism in the Santa Maria 2nd ward. YAY FOR BAPTISMS! We met up with him at the baptism and he LOVED it!!! It got him so excited for his own baptism in December! Now we just have to teach him the rest of the lessons! Then we came home and had a really late dinner.
Sat: today was all sorts of emotions haha. We did service for a non member and helped her clean out her backyard. Then we had a lesson with the Stone Family and read the Book of Mormon with them. They're so sweet. They get so excited whenever we read with them, it's adorable. Well the transfer news came today and the odds were not in our favor😢 looks like the dynamic duo is being broken up..... I'm headed back to the south of the mission to the Agoura Hills 1st ward (I covered that area when I was in the West lake ysa ward) my new companion is Sister McGuire!! YAY! she's so awesome.... I can't wait to see what happens next transfer... I feel miracles headed our way!
Sun: YIKES 13 MONTHS OUT. I'M AN OLD GEEZER NOW! 👵🏻I guess time flies when you're having fun... this morning we FINALLY got to out weekly planning.... lol it's been a crazy week. Then we had church. Ernesto came!! And he bore his testimony on how much he loves being here and how he knows that there's something different about this church! He shared that he is so grateful that Sister Adamson and I found him and brought him to the light to build a relationship with God and Christ. (Yeah.... it made us cry like a baby!) Then we said goodbye to some families that we had been getting close with, had dinner and then said goodbye to some people we were working with. I hate goodbyes.... 😒😕😔
It's going to be so very hard to leave this amazing ward, area, and companion!!! It breaks my heart💔💔 but I know that Gods plans are always better than our own plans so I'm excited to see what's in store. All we have to do is trust in Him and His plans for us 💕
