Jan 23-28

My oh my what a week. This week felt like an eternity, yet the days felt like seconds..... I don't understand time anymore πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I feel like so much happened this week but don't know how to put it into words!

Tue: today was WALK DAY!!! The whole mission was on foot for the whole day, it was so great! We met this really cool man named Kyle who has been reading the Book of Mormon recently all by himself! It was so cool! We also met with a less active and had a really good lesson there!

Wed: we had a really awesome day planned today but ended up having to go help out some sisters that were going through some things. Then we had dinner at our stake presidents house and they told a hilariously embarrassing story about a Sister missionary who fell into their swimming pool last February...... after everyone stopped laughing I awkwardly told them that it was me. Lol then things got even funnier because they forgot who it was. I was hoping that they would have forgotten by now about that by now but I was wrongπŸ˜‚

Thurs: I don't think anything too crazy happened today.  Just weekly planning and putting information into our phones.

Fri: today we had our last district meeting of the transfer. It went well!! We then had lunch together as a district.  After,  I had the opportunity to start a course called "my plan". It's just something missionaries have too do their last transfer before they go home.  We also had dinner at a potential investigators house!

Sat: today was crazy.  We found out about transfers. Looks like I'm going to be spending my
last few weeks in the beautiful city of Ventura!! My new companion is Sister Brockbank, she has been out for almost 5 monthsπŸ˜„ I served around her when she first came out into the mission so it will be super fun to be her companion!! πŸ˜„ today we went to the temple with Terry Doyle, our recent convert!! And our potential investigator Katrina came too with bishop and his wife! It was SO good to be at the temple😍

Sun: we had an amazing broadcast that I'm sure everyone was able to watch! As one of the speakers talked about the Thomas Fire and the people of Ventura it melted my heart. It made me super excited to be able to help serve everyone there and bring them the hope that they are in need of at this moment in their life.  We spent the day saying goodbye to all our investigators and people that we work with.

More goodbyes with the Sanchez family
Saying bye to Mahvash

And the Prince Family! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRISTAN!!!

TEMPLE TRIP!!!
saying goodbye to Terry and Laura, the Eminente family,
and the Sanchez family (investigatorsπŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•)

Break ups on break ups on breakups

Jan 15-21

Tuesday- we had a big breakup with a family that we are teaching. The Gorokhoffs, we cried, they cried. It was pretty sad. We then went to pieology to mend the wounds. But all was well

Wednesday- INTERVIEWS!!! Ah I just love President Nakken! He is wonderful! We rapped for him and he LOVED IT!!! it was hilarious. He wants us to go to all the zone conferences and teach everyone our rap
πŸ˜‚

Thursday- we did weekly planning. Yeah.... not much happened today. Oh.... and our potential Phil broke up with us too

Friday- district meeting! And we helped Terry find a name to take to the temple next Saturday when we go do baptisms!

Saturday. Okay today was THE WORST
1- a BIRD POOPED ON MY HEAD!
2- our potential yelled at me for not ringing his doorbell when sister m was the one who knocked
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
3- a huge dog kept trying to get on top of our shoulders.
4- our investigator told us supernatural stories on how they are haunted.....
I don't even know what happened this week

Who even is my Companion?!?!

Jan 8-14

Monday- we had to cut our p day short because we went to the temple! But most of our day was filled with lots and lots of phone work and papers that we had to get done before the next day!

Tuesday- EXCHANGES with  Simi valley ysa!! I went with Sister Riggs! She's also from Kaysville!!! It POURED all day!!!
We had a few lessons, one was with the Sanchez family! We read with them πŸ’• and then we helped them make slime! It was pretty crazy haha

Wednesday- EXCHANGES with Pleasant Valley! I went with Sister Montag! She's so great! We taught the prince family about God and His nature and how to grow closer to Him.

Thursday- we had a surprise exchange with some sisters and we went and worked in their area! It was pretty fun to work in a YSA ward again... I sure do miss my YSA wards!

Friday- ahhhhh ANOTHER EXCHANGE!!! with Los Robles! I went with Sister Miller! We had district meeting where we went to this HUGE house and watched the funeral for President Thomas S Monson. It was such a wonderful service!  We also held the big snake again.... kinda gross.

Saturday- EXCHANGES again!!! Jk but that's basically how this week felt.  I FINALLY got to be Sister Mcguires companion again!!! I missed her! We did our weekly planning and did service for a potential investigator who surprised us with a "late lunch" at 4. With spaghetti and meatballs. THEN at 5:30 We had dinner .... with our ward mission leader at the Habit. After, we had stake conference. It was soooooo good! The "theme" was about going back to the basics. Scripture study, prayer, church attendance. And the importance of doing that all individually and as a family!

Sunday- stake conference part 2. We had a former investigator there and she loved it!! She wants to meet soon and learn again!!

Jan 1-7

Monday: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! well not much happened today because we couldn't go out working. So we played volleyball basically all day with our district! It was really funπŸ˜‚ then the elders did face masks πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Tuesday- EXCHANGES WITH WESTLAKE YSA!!! I went with Sister Fitting, who was trained by my trainee πŸ’•πŸ’• we had a blast together sharing the gospel and getting to know each other. She updated me on the ysa ward! Ah tender mercies of the Lord right there!! Haha we had a lesson with the Sanchez family and read 2 stories in the Book of Mormon with them. We read about lehis vision of the tree of life. They LOVED itπŸ’• ah I just love that family!

Wednesday: EXCHANGES WITH DOS VIENTOS!!! I went with Sister Garrett! She's awesome! We also had a blast talking with people and sharing the gospel. We talked to this really cool man about the book of Mormon and he is more than interested, I haven't seen anyone that happy to receive a copy in a long time. It was amazing to watch him be so excited. It made me so so happy that we get to bring people the joy of the Restored gospel πŸ’• man. I wanna be a missionary FOREVER!

Thursday- ahhhhhh okay this was probably my favorite day this week!!!! LEMME EXPLAIN!!! As we were getting ready for MLC, we had a knock at the door. Sister McGuire went and talked to someone for a bit but I couldn't really tell who it was so I went closer cuz #sightandsound (I have to be in sight and sound of my companion at all times) as I was walking out of my bathroom door, SYDNEY WAS THERE!!! Previously known as Sister Besendorfer, on of the companions I had in Westlake YSA around April time. It was SO good to see her! Ah I miss her! Then we had MLC and I got to spend the day with my dear friend Sister Adamson πŸ’• probably the saddest part of the day was that it was probably the last time I will see her as a missionary since she goes home at the end of the month 😭
Friday- today we had district meeting and were kinda scared to go home because of what happened last week after district meeting πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ we got home and everything was fine hahaha but then we felt like we needed to go see some sisters in our stewardship so we did. At first they weren't home (even though we thought they were) so we thought we would scare them by hiding in their apartment, luckily their door was unlocked. We waited for a bit and realized that they really weren't there and we awkwardly broke in πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ they showed up and were SOOOOO confused hahaha it was funny...  then we spent most of the day with them and helped them out with some things that they have been struggling with.

Saturday- today was really really.... cool!!! We had yet ANOTHER mission tour and were blessed to be able to meet with Elder Renlend of the Quorum of the 12 apostles. He had come to our mission on assignment to personally tell us 3 things
1. On behalf of our Savior, Jesus Christ, thank you for excepting your call to serve πŸ’•
2. You have been called of God, by prophecy, to be HERE in the California Ventura Mission. He has a specific mission here for each of you. And not only does he want you here now, he NEEDS you here now.
3. Lastly, your mission president, President Nakken and his wife are also called by prophecy. They love you and there is nothing that they wouldn't do for you.
After, we did our studies and got a call from our ward mission leader that he was gonna take us out to dinner so we met him at some seafood place. Well things got a little crazy, and we ended up trying all sorts of stuff that idk what it was. But I do know that we, at one point, ate EEL!!! Not gonna lie.... I was not a fan πŸ˜‚ but it was worth a shot

It was truly amazing to be in the presence of an apostle of our Lord and Savior this weeked. They have such a special spirit about them. I love them all so much and I sustain every single one of them. We also found out this week of the passing of our dear Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. He was such a wonderful man and leader in our lives. I know that he was a Prophet of God and that his successor will also be a Prophet called of God as well. I am so grateful for a Prophet in these days that we live in, to give us guidance and direction from our loving Heavenly Father. We are blessed to live in a time when we have the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ available in our life. πŸ’•πŸ’•

Dec 25-31

Mon: Christmas!!! Best day EVER! I got to see and talk to my beautiful family.  PS: They're the Best! Had breakfast at the Lawrence's and they gave us stockingsπŸ’–.  Then dinner with a potential investigator - Katrina.  She let us help her with Christmas decorations last week.

Tue:  Exchanges w/Camarillo YSA.  I went with Sister Fowers.  We had a good day of talking with everyone and sharing the good news of the GospelπŸ’œ Oh and we taught Mahvash.

Wed: Exchanges with Santa Susana 5.  I went with Sister Mcinnes again, just a good day of contacting.

Thu: We went to the TEMPLE! For Sister McGuires b-day in Dec!  IT WAS SO WONDERFUL! I missed the Temple. πŸ’•

Fri:  Well after district meeting on Friday we went back to our apartment to get some weekly planning done and found our apartment FILLED with smoke. It was bad..... turns out that while we were gone, our heaters motor decided to over heat and catch on fire sending all the smoke into our apartment. It was quite the adventure. We then got kicked out of our apartment so that they could do work on it and fix everything.  So we ate and did weekly on our porchπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Sat:  Exchanges with Santa Clara.  I went with Sister Fairborn.  We taught a returning member and picked up a New investigate, Tiffany!  Her hubby's a member and she wants to learn more.

Sun:  Well Church we taught primary about the 1st vision.  I was amazed at how much they know about it.  Most had it memorized!-no joke.  Then taught JJ and watched "Where justice, love and mercy meet". Then weekly planning at night.
